BEHIND THE LENS
Born and raised as a Florida native in Jacksonville, Connor Lavin graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in photography from the University of North Florida in 2022. Having been deeply influenced by her involvement in the music scene at an early age, Lavin initially delved into concert photography, in which she became engrossed.
Although she is still prolific in that circuit, her journey at UNF enabled her to broaden her photographical horizons as she began to experiment with more evocative and personal projects that attest to her journey as a student and beyond. In addition to expressing herself through more emotional endeavors, Lavin has also immensely enjoyed alternative avenues of photography such as creating cyanotypes and tintypes and utilizing more rudimentary equipment such as the Holga camera. This versatility in the visual arts has enabled her to satiate her passion for photo on a broad spectrum.
